Trial Days for New Dogs
At Wharfedale Kennels, the welfare and happiness of every dog is our highest priority. That’s why all new dogs are required to attend a Trial Day before staying with us for a holiday.
The Trial Day gives your dog the opportunity to spend a full day with us, allowing them to become familiar with the surroundings, our team and the daily routine. It also allows us to ensure they are comfortable and settled before a longer stay.
We believe this helps make future boarding a far more enjoyable experience for both your dog and you.
Why is a Trial Day Important?
Every dog is different.
Some dogs settle into kennel life immediately, whilst others may find a new environment overwhelming if they haven’t experienced it before.
By attending a Trial Day first, we can make sure your dog is comfortable, relaxed and happy before their holiday. If they need a little extra time to adjust, we’ll discuss this with you and help find the best solution.
Our aim is always to provide a safe, happy and stress-free experience for every dog in our care.

Walking & Exercise
All dogs are given exercise four times a day, we have 3 large fields with purpose built fencing where all socialised dogs are allowed. Dogs that are not socialised, or require walking individually will be given plenty of personal attention by one of our experienced staff.
Whats on the Menu?
We feed our guests the same times amounts that you would at home to keep consistency for them, we have a large selection of foods available and we like to keep the dogs on a similar diet to the one they have at home so as not to upset their stomaches. If your dog requires a special diet let us know, and any medication that the dogs need can be given at meal times at no extra cost.
Vaccinations
We require that all dogs boarding with us have the relevant vaccinations to ensure that they remain in good health, dogs that don’t have the necessary vaccinations will not be allowed to board here. We take the dogs health very seriously and take every care to ensure that all dogs enjoy their visit to Wharfedale Kennels. It is essential that all dogs have had Routine vaccinations to protect against Parvious, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis and Distemper and these are needed yearly plus Vaccinated against Kennel Cough before their visit to us. Your vet should be able to help you with any concerns you have. And provide you with the relevant paperwork as proof of these Vaccinations.
Medications will be administered when required at no extra cost – as some pets need medication given 10 hours apart which doesn’t tally with mealtimes.
Nervous Guests
We understand that leaving your pet is hard sometimes, many dogs wont have experienced being at a boarding kennels. We take every care to make sure that your pet is comfortable and is given plenty of attention to help them settle in. Dogs that are extremely nervous will be given special attention and can be walked individually if need be. Dog Kennels Leeds.

We invite all our customers to a viewing before booking in your dog, this will ensure that both you and your dog are happy with the accomodation and will allow our staff to discuss any special requirements.
